Lot 595: A Wade Porcelain Glazed Ceramic Turtle Dish and a Collection of Glazed Ceramic Turtle and Tortoise Figurines
A large brown-glazed ceramic dish, marked “WADE PORCELAIN MADE IN ENGLAND” to the underside, featuring a textured shell pattern interior and containing a smaller, matching turtle figure. Accompanied by a collection of seventeen additional glazed ceramic turtle and tortoise figurines of various sizes. These pieces are predominantly finished in brown, beige, and blue-grey glazes, exhibiting a naturalistic, stylized aesthetic. The collection includes two larger examples designed as lidded containers with removable shells. Comprising eighteen items in total.
