Lot 467: Royal Doulton Classics Figures of the Year: Elizabeth (Signed on base) and Sarah

A lot of two Royal Doulton fine bone china figurines from the Classics “Figure of the Year” series. The first figure, “Elizabeth” (HN 4426, 2003), modeled by J. Bromley, depicts a young woman in a flowing yellow and pale orange off-the-shoulder ballgown. The base is marked Royal Doulton Classics, Figure of the Year 2003, and features a large, handwritten signature in gold luster by Michael Doulton, dated “29 Aug 2003.” The second figure, “Sarah” (HN 3978, 2002), modeled by Dominic Hughes, features a young woman in a dramatic deep teal strapless gown with a pink rose detail. Both figures are hand-made and hand-decorated, and both include their original Royal Doulton certificates. Approximate height of each figure is 8.25 inches.
