Lot 556: A Modern German SS Style Decorative Dagger with Chained Scabbard

A contemporary decorative dagger produced in the style of a German Third Reich SS dress dagger, attributed to the manufacturer Denix. The hilt features a textured black synthetic grip and chrome-plated metal fittings, including a stepped crossguard and a circular disc-shaped pommel with a raised central boss. The plain, double-edged steel blade has a central ridge and lacks a ricasso, showing no manufacturer’s marks, RZM codes, or etchings. The accompanying black-painted metal scabbard is fitted with two chrome-plated bands secured by external screws, a feature characteristic of modern commercial reproductions. A two-part decorative chain hanger is attached to these bands. This item is a contemporary “fantasy” or collector’s piece and does not conform to historical military specifications for authentic period daggers.
