Lot 471: A Vintage Walking Cane and a Wooden Cleaning Rod with Brass Fittings

A pair of vintage items comprising a walking cane and a wooden rod for firearm maintenance. The walking cane is constructed from a dark, black-finished wood shaft with a rounded L-shaped handle. The neck of the cane features a period repair consisting of tightly wound black cordage. The shaft tapers to a white-metal ferrule. The second item is a two-section wooden cleaning rod featuring brass fittings. It includes a central brass joining sleeve and a terminal brass jag with a series of serrated, saw-tooth ridges and a threaded tip for attachments. The opposite end of the rod is finished with a turned wooden grip featuring decorative ribbing. No maker marks, patent dates, or serial numbers are visible on either item.
