Lot 132: Norman Wade, Durham Castle, Limited Edition Screenprint, 1973 66x46
A limited edition screenprint by the British artist Norman Wade (1922-2004), titled Durham Castle and dated 1973. The work presents a stylised, modernist architectural view of the historic castle and surrounding buildings, rendered in a palette of muted purple-grey, dark sepia, and black with white highlights. The print is hand-numbered 8/100 in the lower left margin, where the title Durham Castle is also inscribed in pencil. The lower right margin features the pencil signature Norman Wade followed by the date -73. The artwork is presented in a simple cream-coloured wooden frame behind glass. Included with the lot is a biographical information sheet from Rastall Art detailing the artist’s career and stylistic focus on the architecture of Northern England.
