Lot 383: Bretby Art Pottery Majolica Grape Leaf Dish Model 1811

A Bretby Art Pottery earthenware dish realistically moulded in the form of a large vine leaf. The piece features deep veining, a serrated edge, and a central circular aperture near the stem base. It is finished in a high-gloss, variegated majolica-style lead glaze with a transition of autumnal colours from deep moss green at the centre to amber-brown and ochre yellow towards the margins. The reverse is finished in a mottled brown glaze and bears several impressed marks including the Bretby rising sun logo with England below, the model number 1811, and the digit 13.
