Lot 131: A Pair of Antique Emerald Green Ribbed Glass Apothecary Poison Bottles
A pair of antique British apothecary shop rounds manufactured from emerald green glass. Each bottle features a cylindrical body with vertical fluting, a tactile safety feature historically used to signify poisonous or external-use contents. The bottles are set with recessed shield-shaped labels featuring a red ground, gilt borders, and black printed text. One bottle is labelled LIN: BELLAD: for Belladonna Liniment and the other is labelled LIQ: POT: PERMANG: for Potassium Permanganate solution. Both vessels retain their original ground glass stoppers; one is of spherical form and the other is of faceted rectangular form.
