Lot 159: A Chinese polychrome porcelain figure of Lu Xing and a carved hardwood deer sculpture

A Chinese polychrome porcelain figure of the deity Lu Xing and a carved hardwood sculpture of a deer and fawn. The porcelain figure is modelled as a bearded official in elaborate robes, carrying a young child in his right arm and a green ruyi sceptre in his left hand. The robes are decorated with a turquoise ground and famille rose enamels depicting peonies, scrolling clouds, and mythical beasts in iron-red and gold. The base displays a pink-ground floral border. The accompanying hardwood sculpture is carved with stylised, fluid lines depicting an adult deer with a fawn beneath, finished with a dark polish.
