Lot 205: A Chinese Blue and White Crackle Glazed Porcelain Lidded Jar
A porcelain lidded jar of ovoid form featuring an all-over ge-type crackle glaze. The body is decorated in underglaze blue with vertical columns of calligraphic script referencing the Eight Trigrams, including the characters for Mountain, Heaven, Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Lake, and Thunder. A meander border encircles the shoulder and the rim of the lid. The domed lid is decorated with a central ruyi-head cloud motif. The base features a square four-character mark in underglaze blue for Da Qing Qian Long (大清乾隆). The mark is apocryphal, and the piece likely dates to the late 19th or early 20th century.
