Lot 277: Mid Century Musical Singing Bird Cage Automaton and Jewellery Box

A musical singing bird cage automaton with an integrated jewellery drawer. The circular base is upholstered in a vintage floral patterned fabric in shades of orange, yellow, and brown. The base is surmounted by a domed brass-toned wire cage containing two birds with pale yellow and reddish-orange feathers. The birds are suspended on wire armatures connected to a central mechanical column. The base features a single pull-out drawer with a silver-toned metal pull knob and an orange flocked interior. The cage is finished with a brass-toned finial and suspension ring.
