Lot 320: Two FDNY 9/11 Commemorative Items Comprising a Pocket Knife and Pocket Watch

A pair of commemorative items honouring the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and the events of 11 September 2001. The lot comprises a single-blade lockback pocket knife and a hunter-case pocket watch. The pocket knife features a polished stainless steel blade of Chinese manufacture. The handle is constructed with gold-tone bolsters featuring relief-moulded fire hose motifs and colourised pictorial inlays depicting a firefighter beside a flag-draped engine and an American flag. It is presented in a red wood-finish display case with a commemorative FDNY insert featuring a helmet numbered 343 and the text Never Forget September 11, 2001. The gold-tone hunter-case pocket watch is decorated with a colourised image of the Ground Zero flag raising to the front cover, bordered by the text God Bless America and Enduring Freedom. The white dial is marked American Pride and Quartz, featuring black Arabic numerals and an inner 24-hour track. The watch includes a gold-tone snake-link chain with a vest clip and is housed in a black leatherette presentation box with gold-foil detailing.
