Lot 358: A collection of vintage mid-20th-century table lighters in wood stone and novelty metal cases

An assortment of table lighters presented in a variety of decorative housings. The collection features several wooden domed bases with etched concentric lines and one example decorated with a polychrome bird motif in a Celtic style. Multiple lighters are mounted in pale green onyx or marble bases ranging from low circular profiles to taller cylindrical forms. Novelty metal-cased lighters include a rearing horse, a vintage motor car, a tankard, a small trophy cup, and a bamboo-style vessel. Other materials present include a hexagonal base with geometric bone or wood inlay, a cylindrical base with a tortoiseshell-effect finish, and one base with mother-of-pearl style tiling. The lighters utilise typical lift-arm or push-button striker mechanisms in gold-tone and silver-tone metal finishes. No manufacturer marks or signatures are legible on the exterior surfaces of the pieces.
