A set of four cast bronze figurines depicting anthropomorphic dogs in nineteenth-century military uniforms. The set comprises a drummer, a violinist, a saxophonist, and a cymbalist. Each figure is dressed in a frogged coat with epaulettes and a shako hat adorned with a rope-twist band, plume, and a crowned crest. The dogs feature detailed moustaches and expressive facial features. Each bronze figure stands upon a circular integral base with a textured cobblestone surface, which is mounted to a multi-tiered black marble plinth. The bronzes are finished with a dark brown patina and display polished highlights on the raised details of the uniforms and instruments. No maker’s marks, signatures, or foundry stamps are visible on the bronze elements or the marble bases.
