Lot 385: Modernist Stylised Head Sculpture, Sand-Textured Stoneware 35cm tall

A modernist studio pottery sculpture in the form of a stylised humanoid head. The piece is constructed from a coarse, sand-textured buff stoneware with a tapering conical upper section. The facial features are defined by deep geometric incisions, including two horizontal eye slits and a rectangular mouth recess, divided by a vertical ridge. The hollow base is of a rounded, bulbous form. An impressed circular mark is located on a small clay pad applied to the interior wall of the base; the mark features a large curved character partially enclosing a vertical element, with two smaller, illegible characters below. The monogram is not legible as a name.
