Lot 4: An Assortment of Schoenut Jointed Wooden Circus Animals and a Miniature Chair
A collection of Schoenhut vintage jointed wooden circus animals and a miniature ladder-back chair. The group features various animals constructed from carved and painted wood, utilizing an internal spring-and-cord jointing system. The animals include a large grey elephant with a paisley-patterned fabric saddle and one leather ear; a smaller olive-green elephant with leather ears; a dapple grey horse with a red leather harness and black synthetic tail; two brown donkeys with leather ears, one retaining a red felt saddle with gold-coloured braided trim; and a tiger with orange and black painted markings and a rope tail. The accompanying miniature chair is a simple ladder-back design finished in cream-coloured paint.
