Lot 49: A Silver and Enamel Masonic Past Master Jewel by F. London for John Readhead Lodge No. 3217 circa 54g gross
A silver and enamel Masonic Past Master’s jewel for John Readhead Lodge No. 3217, presented to Worshipful Brother Alfred Todd. The jewel features a light blue moiré silk ribbon set between white enamel banners inscribed JOHN READHEAD LODGE NO 3217 and WORSHIPFUL MASTER 1941-42. The ribbon is mounted with an enamel heraldic crest depicting a knightly arm and dagger above a shield with a red saltire. Suspended from the lower banner is a Master’s square and compasses with a pendant square depicting the 47th Proposition of Euclid. The reverse components are stamped F. LONDON BRIGHTON SILVER. The reverse of the square is engraved: Presented To W. BRO. ALFRED TODD W.M. John Readhead Lodge No 3217 as a mark of appreciation 1941-42.
