Lot 52: A Tibetan Silver Filigree and Inlaid Elephant Figurine circa 49.5g gross

A silver figurine of an elephant standing with a raised trunk, an auspicious pose in South Asian iconography. The body is constructed from intricate silver wire filigree depicting scrolling floral patterns. The ears and a decorative saddle blanket are embellished with inlaid cabochon stones in turquoise and coral-red colours. The tusks feature a dark-patinated finish. The underside of one foot is stamped with the mark SILVER. The entire object displays a heavy, dark tarnish consistent with the natural oxidation of silver.
