Lot 596: A Collection of Ten Decorative Ceramics and Glassware
A mixed collection of ten decorative pieces including glassware, porcelain and stoneware. The lot includes a large circular amber-toned glass bowl with a footed base. There is a clear glass intaglio ornament in slab form featuring a bird amongst reeds. The porcelain includes a teacup and matching square saucer with scalloped edges, decorated with a multi-coloured floral pattern and gilt rims; the saucer has an applied three-dimensional yellow rose with green leaves to the front edge. A glazed porcelain figurine depicts a young boy in a wide-brimmed hat and purple jacket holding two geese. A tall earthenware vase with a waisted neck is hand-painted with green and brown botanical sprays. An ovoid stoneware vase features a grey speckled glaze and blue-painted foliate spray. The collection contains four pieces of Celtic Pottery Newlyn stoneware with mottled grey and brown glazes: a circular plate and small jug decorated with cream-coloured leaf and berry motifs, the jug featuring a deep red interior glaze; a large pitcher and a globular flower frog, both featuring incised sgraffito fish designs and pale blue interior glazes.
