Lot 625: A Collection of Eleven Pieces of Belleek Shamrock and Basketweave Parian Porcelain Tableware
A collection of eleven pieces of Irish Belleek Parian porcelain, decorated with the traditional hand-painted green shamrock motif on relief-moulded basketweave ground. The group includes a pair of bud vases with bulbous bases featuring Celtic-style knotwork, two teacups with characteristic green twig-form handles, and two matching saucers. A rectangular sandwich tray displays a similar basketweave texture with shamrock sprays at the corners. The collection further comprises a floral-moulded creamer and a matching petal-edged open sugar bowl, both featuring a yellow lustre glaze to the interior. Additional items include a large shallow petal-edged bowl, a small trefoil-shaped dish, and a leaf-shaped pin dish or butter pat. Each piece is finished with a lustrous glaze typical of the factory’s Parian ware. The base of each item bears a blue printed mark consisting of a central crest with a round tower, a wolfhound, and a harp, with a circled ‘R’ to the upper right. A banner below the crest reads ‘BELLEEK’, and a larger curved banner at the bottom reads ‘CO. FERMANAGH IRELAND’. This mark identifies the pieces as having been manufactured between 1993 and 1997.
