Lot 679: A Pair of Brutalist Welded Steel Floor Standing Flambeaux

A pair of graduated floor-standing flambeaux or architectural planters constructed from welded steel. Each piece features a flat rectangular base plate supporting a stem formed from two parallel rods. The upper portion of each stem branches into two curved arms that support an inverted four-sided pyramid-shaped receptacle. The construction is industrial, characterised by visible weld points and raw, torch-cut edges. Both items exhibit a heavy, uniform surface oxidation patina. The interior of the larger receptacle shows black carbon or soot staining. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on any component of either stand.
