Lot 68: An 800 silver and carved shell cameo brooch pendant

A carved shell cameo brooch pendant depicting the profile of a classical maiden in relief. The maiden is portrayed with a floral headband and a draped veil. The oval shell is set within an 800 silver frame featuring a fine twisted rope-twist inner border. The reverse of the frame is fitted with a horizontal pin with a rollover safety catch and a hinged bail at the top for use as a pendant. An impressed stamp reading 800 is visible on the lower reverse edge of the frame.
