Lot 73: A Hermes sterling hallmarked silver and marcasite ladies cocktail watch working

A ladies cocktail watch by Hermes featuring a manual wind 17 jewels movement. The circular dial is set with applied gold-tone Arabic numerals at the even hours and baton markers for the odd hours. The dial is printed with the name HERMES below the twelve o clock position and 17 JEWELS above the six o clock position. The sterling silver case is embellished with a border of marcasite stones, as is the integral articulated link bracelet which features a fold-over clasp. The case back is struck with four impressed marks in individual shields: a lion passant, an anchor, a script letter m, and a rectangular cartouche containing the letters Y and B. The watch is presented in a blue leatherette and velvet-lined box with a gold-printed inner lid for J. McCarthy Ltd of Westminster, London.
