Lot 742: An Eddystone EC10 Transistorised Communications Receiver with Power Unit and Instruction Manual
A British-made transistorised communications receiver by Eddystone Radio Ltd, model EC10. The receiver is housed in a grey-painted metal cabinet with chrome-plated side handles. The front panel features a multi-band slide-rule dial calibrated in Mc/s and Kc/s, with a secondary logging scale. Control knobs are provided for R.F. Gain, A.F. Gain, B.F.O. pitch, Wavechange, and Tuning, alongside four push-buttons for Filter, B.F.O., A.G.C., and Dial lights. A headphone jack is positioned to the lower left. A rectangular plaque to the top centre of the front panel reads EDDYSTONE, and the unit is further marked MODEL EC10 and MADE IN ENGLAND. The lot includes a separate external power unit, Cat. No. 924, which features a printed label reading EDDYSTONE RADIO LTD. POWER UNIT CAT. No. 924 and MADE IN ENGLAND. This unit is housed in its original cardboard box and is fitted with a modern white UK 3-pin plug. An original paper instruction manual is included, titled Eddystone TRANSISTORISED COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVER MODEL EC10 INSTRUCTION MANUAL.
