A panoramic watercolour on paper depicting a coastal scene at Cullercoats Bay, Tyne and Wear. The composition features the sweeping curve of the promenade populated with various figures in Edwardian dress and a horse-drawn carriage. To the left of the image is a row of terraced houses, while the beach below shows several fishing boats pulled onto the sand. The sea is busy with sailing vessels on the horizon under a moody, overcast sky. The artwork is signed and inscribed in the lower right corner in handwritten characters reading Cullercoats Bay 1905 J.F. Slater. The piece is housed in a glazed dark wood frame with a cream-coloured double-aperture mount. The lower aperture displays an additional handwritten signature reading John F. Slater.
