A watercolour on paper by the artist John William Gilroy depicting a maritime harbour scene. The composition features two large fishing boats moored in the foreground with detailed rigging and masts. A signature painted in brown script in the lower left corner reads J.W. Gilroy. and the lower margin of the mount features a blackletter style calligraphic inscription reading J.W. Gilroy. The scene includes several seagulls in flight and on the water surface, rendered with soft washes. The artwork is presented in a decorative gilt gesso frame featuring a beaded inner border.
