Lot 469: A Picquot Ware Cast Magnalium Teapot and Hot Water Jug

Picquot Ware two piece service comprising a teapot and a hot water jug. The vessels are manufactured from cast Magnalium, a magnesium-aluminium alloy, and feature hand-carved sycamore wood handles and lid finials. The teapot is designed with a squat, bulbous body and a curved spout, while the hot water jug is of a taller, tapered form. Both pieces are cast as a single unit to avoid seams and then polished. The base of the teapot is stamped Picquot Ware, T6, and MADE IN ENGLAND.
