Lot 153: An antique style square cased maritime signal lantern with internal burner

A manual signal lantern of robust construction, featuring a square-profile metal body finished in textured black paint. The structure includes a pyramidal top section that transitions into a cylindrical chimney, which is detailed with vertical ventilation slits and a domed cap. The main body houses four clear glass panes, each protected by an external metal wire cage. Access to the interior is provided by a hinged top section secured with a metal latch to the front. The lantern is equipped with a heavy-gauge wire swing handle featuring a circular finger-loop detail on one side. Internally, the lantern retains its burner assembly with a perforated cap. The underside shows a flanged base with a perimeter of small circular perforations.
