Lot 166: Poole Pottery Wild Poppy Pattern Earthenware Charger 40c40cm

A large Poole Pottery earthenware charger featuring the hand-painted Wild Poppy pattern. The circular form is decorated with bold, abstract yellow poppy flowers emerging from the left and right peripheries, set against a mottled, painterly cobalt blue background. A single, stylized drooping yellow bud on a green stem occupies the central field. The design is executed with thick black outlines and red-orange accents. The reverse of the charger is finished in a glossy black glaze and features an impressed mark near the top edge that reads HULLE POTTERY. Additionally, there is a hand-painted white character W on the base.
