Lot 288: A Collection of Antique Aqua Glass Apothecary Bottles Including a Labeled Clap Mixture Example

A collection of eight antique pharmaceutical bottles, each formed from aqua-tinted glass. These vessels are of rectangular section with rounded shoulders and short necks. A variety of square-sectioned and faceted glass stoppers are present, and some necks retain frayed segments of original twine. One bottle is affixed with a printed paper label reading CLAP MIXTURE DOSE.- One tablespoonful in half a cupful of water every four hours. Williamson & Hogg Ltd. Chemists, North Shields.
