Lot 633: Aranmula Kannadi Front Surface Bronze Alloy Metal Mirror in Original Box

An Aranmula Kannadi, a traditional metal-alloy mirror from Kerala, India. The reflective surface is cast from a copper and tin alloy and polished to a mirror finish, rather than using silvered glass. The ornate brass-finished metal frame features a tiered crest and a hamsa-style base, decorated throughout with incised patterns and punch-mark borders. The front of the frame below the reflective surface bears the incised name ARANMULA KANNADI. The reverse is fitted with a hinged, fold-out easel stand. This lot is complete with its original red fabric-lined presentation box and an informational pink paper pamphlet titled Aranmula Kannadi A Marvel in Bronze, which includes a cleaning and caution guide and contact details for Shobha Nair.
