Lot 661: An Assortment of Silver and Silver-plated Tableware, Barware, and Accessories
A collection of mixed silver and silver-plated items for the table and bar. The group includes a set of six trumpet-form goblets with waisted stems, a large rectangular hip flask featuring a cross-hatched engine-turned pattern and a captive screw-top lid, and various pieces of flatware including tined cocktail forks, a ladle with a pierced bowl, a caddy spoon with a flower-head bowl, and a pair of sugar tongs. The assembly is completed by two cut-glass condiment shakers with metal tops, a small solid metal shaker, a lidded rectangular box, a shot glass, a vesta case, and a napkin ring fashioned from a repurposed fork handle.
The base of the hip flask bears the impressed name CHRISTOPHER JOHNSON. The silver-mounted bottle pourer neck is stamped with the name HALLBERG SWEDEN and the letters ALP. The sugar tongs feature internal rectangular punches reading EPNS. The vesta case has a small rectangular punch at the rim reading BCS, though the characters are worn. A silver-mounted bottle stopper with a bust-form finial is also present.
