Lot 82: A clear glass ship's decanter with sterling silver mounts

A clear glass ship’s decanter, the broad circular base rising to a tapered neck. The piece features sterling silver mounts, including a collar at the shoulder and a circular disk set into the heavy glass stopper. The silver collar is struck with a series of hallmarks comprising a maker’s mark ‘H S B’ in a horizontal oval, a ‘925’ fineness mark in an oval, a Birmingham anchor town mark, a lion passant, and a lowercase date letter ‘d’. The stopper and neck are ground for a flush fit.
