Lot 186: Anthropomorphic Taxidermy Owl with Red Hat and Squirrel Scenic Base

A whimsical anthropomorphic taxidermy mount featuring a small owl, likely a Little Owl (Athene noctua), presented in a decorative woodland scene. The owl is positioned upright on a naturalistic wooden branch, looking slightly upwards. It is dressed in a miniature red felt hat which is embellished with a red feather, a black mesh veil, and small floral accents in red, green, and yellow. The bird’s plumage displays characteristic brown and cream mottled patterns, and it is fitted with dark glass eyes. The base is constructed with artificial green moss and is further decorated with several small red wooden ladybird figures. Accompanying the owl at the base is a small plush squirrel figure with a prominent, bushy brown faux fur tail. The entire piece is mounted on a textured, bark-effect branch support. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels were observed on any part of the specimen or its base.
