Lot 377: A Pair of Brass Carriage or Veteran Motor Car Side Lamps
A pair of early 20th-century brass vehicle side lamps. Each lamp is constructed with a cylindrical body and a tiered, ventilated chimney top surmounted by a spherical brass finial. The front of each lamp features a circular flared bezel housing a clear glass lens. One lamp is fitted with a square green glass tell-tale window on its side, while the corresponding lamp features a circular clear glass window at the rear. Both lamps are equipped with a side-mounting bracket consisting of a stem and a triangular base plate with three pre-drilled holes for vehicle attachment. The lamps exhibit visible solder repairs at the junctions of the chimneys and the stems. No maker marks, brand names, or patent numbers are visible on the exterior surfaces.
