Lot 390: A pair of glazed ceramic koi fish figurines

A pair of glazed ceramic fish figurines, each modelled as a stylized koi or carp with expressive, anthropomorphic features. The figures are finished in a deep mottled oxblood red glaze, accented by yellow-ochre impressed scales and facial markings. The fins and tails are rendered in a dark matte brown with incised linear textures. One figurine is positioned in a horizontal swimming pose, while the second is depicted in a vertical diving pose. The undersides of the fins show a raw, light-coloured clay body and are fitted with black circular protective pads. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
