Lot 51: A Sterling Silver Vesta Case with Engraved Floral Basket and Swags circa 76g

A sterling silver vesta case of rectangular form with rounded corners and a side-hinged lid. The front face is decorated with an engraved design featuring a floral basket at the base, with foliate swags suspended from a tied ribbon bow at the upper section. The reverse side features a matching engraved motif with a central vacant circular cartouche. A small suspension loop is fitted to one side. The interior rim is impressed with a series of marks including the characters CLT within a trilobed punch, a symbol of an anchor, a walking lion passant, and a capital letter within a square-ish shield. The walking lion passant and the letter are repeated as partial impressed marks on the inner lid. The base of the case is fitted with a textured striking surface.
