Lot 107: Gustave Hariquette, Maritime Drawing of a Fishing Boat in Rough Seas 41x57cm

A monochrome maritime drawing on toned paper by Gustave Hariquette, executed in a grisaille technique using wash and charcoal with white highlights. The composition depicts a small fishing vessel with a single sail, manned by four figures, navigating through turbulent, cresting waves. A flight of seagulls follows the boat, and a lighthouse is visible on the misty horizon to the left. The hull of the boat is inscribed with the registry number H. 724. The work is presented in a gilded wooden frame with a decorative beaded inner border under glass.
