Lot 111: Frank H Mason (1875-1965) On The Norfolk Broads, signed and dated watercolour, 1947

A panoramic watercolour and pencil landscape on paper depicting a maritime scene on the Norfolk Broads. The composition features a prominent drainage windmill alongside willow trees and reeds to the left, with several sailing craft including traditional wherries and sailboats on the water to the right. Small figures are visible working on the shoreline. The work is signed in the lower right corner in black pigment Frank H Mason 1947 with a line underneath the name. The reverse of the frame bears a rectangular paper label inscribed in pencil reading on the Norfolk Broads. Two white adhesive labels are adhered to the backboard, one marked H491 in black ink and a larger one marked 152 in red ink. The piece is housed in a double mount within a gilt-edged wooden frame.
