Lot 110: Blackie Sticks (1888) Marseden Rock Coastal Landscape with Sea Stacks and Figures in a Rowing Boat, Watercolor

A Marden Roack coastal landscape watercolor on paper, depicting towering grassy-topped cliffs and prominent sea stacks. Two figures are seated in a small rowing boat within a calm inlet, surrounded by scattered gulls. The work is signed and dated B. Sticks 1888 in black pigment to the lower right corner. The painting is presented within a multi-lined cream mount featuring blue and gold wash-lines, housed in a substantial ornate gilt composition frame decorated with foliate and shell motifs. The reverse features a wooden backboard secured with paper tape and hanging wire.
