Lot 150: Large Egyptian Pharaoh Sarcophagus Storage Cabinet 120x35cm

A floor-standing novelty storage cabinet modelled as an Ancient Egyptian sarcophagus in the style of Tutankhamun. The piece is constructed from a cast composite material with a polychrome and gilded finish, mounted on a stepped mahogany-finish wooden plinth. The front lid is attached by brass-toned butt hinges and opens to reveal a black-painted interior fitted with five fixed shelves, creating six storage compartments. The exterior is decorated with a nemes headcloth, ceremonial braided beard, and crossed arms. The lower portion features faux-jewelled patterns in red, green, and gold with a central vertical register of pseudo-hieroglyphic motifs including a scarab beetle and djed-like symbols. The reverse is fitted with a metal bracket for wall stabilisation.
