Lot 151: A large freestanding wooden cello shaped eight bottle wine rack 102x35cm

A freestanding wooden wine rack modelled in the form of a cello or double bass. The body is finished in a high-gloss mottled reddish-brown stain to simulate burr wood grain. The front face contains eight circular apertures for bottle storage, each lined with a dark protective material. The construction features a scroll-top headstock with four wooden tuning pegs and a bridge-like tailpiece detail at the base. The piece stands on two small wooden feet. A metal hook-and-eye latch is fitted to the reverse of the neck-to-shoulder joint, facilitating a hinged or detachable neck.
