Lot 207: Lazarino Miquelet Flintlock Pistol Smoothbore with Octagonal to Round Barrel Antique

A single-shot miquelet flintlock pistol of typical Ottoman or Balkan configuration, featuring a smoothbore barrel that transitions from octagonal at the breech to a round profile at the muzzle. The steel miquelet lock mechanism is constructed with a characteristic external mainspring and flint cock. The wooden stock is extensively decorated with geometric bone or mother-of-pearl inlay across the grip and forend, held by brass and steel pins. A steel trigger guard protects the trigger, and the grip terminates in a flat brass butt plate secured by screws. The top flat of the barrel is incised with a decorative foliate motif and the maker’s name L LAZARINO in block characters. This firearm is missing its ramrod from the channel beneath the barrel.
