Lot 208: Tower Pattern Bone Inlaid Percussion Pistol Antique

This single-shot percussion pistol is of Ottoman or Afghan manufacture, heavily decorated in a regional style and featuring imitation British military markings. The firearm is constructed with a rounded iron barrel and a side-action percussion lock mechanism. The stock is crafted from dark wood and features extensive geometric inlay consisting of bone or mother-of-pearl arranged in star, circle, and cross motifs. Brass furniture completes the piece, including a trigger guard, a wide muzzle band, and a flat butt cap secured with two screws and fitted with a steel lanyard ring. Verbatim markings on the barrel and lock plate include TOWER 55, a crown motif, an X symbol, and a circle with a cross above it. The ramrod is missing from the channel beneath the barrel.
