Lot 222: A Murano Art Glass Clown Figurine 31cm

A Murano art glass figurine of a standing clown. The figure is hand-blown from multi-coloured glass, featuring a green top hat and textured yellow hair. A large flared collar in translucent blue glass surrounds the neck. The head is detailed with small dark eyes and a red and white smile. The torso is constructed from clear glass with internal red, white, and green spatter and millefiori style inclusions, accented by two applied orange glass buttons. The white glass hands hold a red, white, and blue striped ball in the right hand. The figurine is mounted on a solid black glass base in the form of oversized feet. A partially worn gold foil label is present on the underside of the green hat, printed with Murano Made in Italy.
