Lot 223: A Venetian Glass Company Murano Glass Womble Figurine 26cm

A hand-blown glass figurine produced by the Venetian Glass Company, depicting a character based on a Womble. The figure is formed with a central opaque white glass core encased within clear glass. It is adorned with a black top hat and large applied white and black eye canes. The head features long, textured yellow glass ears and a protruding snout. The neck and arms are decorated with spiralled yellow and green glass trails, leading to ribbed green glass hands that hold a green glass disc against the chest. The flared clear glass base contains an opaque white inclusion and shows a ground-and-polished pontil to the underside.
