Lot 233: Olly Burton, A Trio of Framed Prints
A trio of matching framed prints by Olly Burton. The works are reproductions of original pen, ink, and wash illustrations depicting ecclesiastical subjects, likely based on interiors and fixtures from Durham Cathedral. The set comprises three scenes titled The Cathedral Clock, The Organ Case of 1683, and The Bishop and the Lectern, each featuring whimsical characterisations of clergy members. Every work is signed and dated within the print as Burton 92 or Burton 1992. The prints are presented in dark wood frames with gilt-finished inner slips and cream-coloured mounts.
