Lot 274: Northwood Wishbone Pattern Amethyst Carnival Glass Footed Bowl

A Northwood Glass Company carnival glass bowl in the Wishbone pattern. The piece is produced in amethyst base glass with a multi-coloured iridescent finish. The interior decoration features a central floral medallion with a stippled ground, surrounded by stylised orchids and curving ribbon motifs that form the wishbone patterns. The exterior is decorated with the Ruffles and Rings pattern, featuring overlapping circular knots on a stippled background. The bowl has a deeply ruffled and crimped piecrust rim and is supported by three scrolled spatula feet. The centre of the underside bears the moulded Northwood trademark of a capital letter N within a circle.
