Lot 308: Antique Clear Glass Apothecary Bottle with Ground Glass Stopper and Aqua Label

A clear glass apothecary or chemist’s shop display bottle of cylindrical form with a short neck and flared rim. The bottle is fitted with a matching ground glass stopper featuring a rectangular, flat-topped thumbpiece. The front is applied with a large, inset rectangular label with a thick black border on a cream-coloured ground. The label is printed with the text AQUA in a black serif typeface. A red waxy residue is present around the neck and the base of the stopper.
