Lot 354: A contemporary Chinese simulated wood resin bull ornament and pen holder

A modern Chinese decorative desk ornament cast in medium-brown wood-effect resin. The sculpture features a muscular bull in a charging posture, positioned beside a hollowed tree trunk form intended for use as a pen holder or brush pot. The backdrop consists of stylized pine branches and a circular sun disc. The piece is mounted on a stepped rectangular base with molded scrollwork at the corners. The front of the base features an inset rectangular plaque containing four gold-coloured characters Tian Dao Chou Qin transcribed as 天道酬勤 which translates to Heaven rewards the diligent. The construction is a contemporary cast resin designed to imitate carved wood.
