Lot 489: A set of five Wade NatWest piggy banks and original savings ephemera

A set of five ceramic piggy banks manufactured by Wade Ceramics for the National Westminster Bank promotional youth savings scheme during the 1980s. The group includes the full family: Sir Nathaniel depicted in a black tuxedo with red bow tie; Lady Hilary in a blue blouse with black ribbon and handbag; Barnaby in blue dungarees with a striped necktie; Annabel in a green pinafore dress; and Woody the baby pig in a nappy with a large safety pin. Each figure is constructed from glazed ceramic and features a coin slot to the reverse. The collection is accompanied by original ephemera including a blue vinyl folder bearing the NatWest logo, a blue vinyl paying-in book cover featuring an illustration of Sir Nathaniel, and an information booklet titled The Piggies Progress.
